For this mural I developed a concept starting from the ancient history of the city of Ravenna, which beside Dante it used to be a very important port city during the Roman empire. A lot of vases were found, used to containing Garum, a fish sauce which is a traditional condiment used in Roman cuisine.
The woman in the middle represents the sea, holding a vase that looks like a hourglass.
The other two women are connected to the one in the middle by holding a climbing branch, meaning how deep connection with our history. The yellow vases have a fish bone decoration representing the Garum.
